Chetan Nagendra, Partner at Themis Associates, has resigned from the firm to join AZB & Partners in Bangalore. This was first reported by Legally India.
Confirming his joining, AZB Managing Partner Zia Mody said,
“We are extremely pleased to have Chetan join us as our partner in Bangalore. He has immense depth in Venture Capital space and will drive our practice in this area even further.”
A graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and Case Western Reserve, Nagendra has close to 15 years of experience both as in-house counsel and in private practice across India, Asia, the US, UK and the Middle East.
On his decision to join AZB, Nagendra said,
“My practice was growing and I required a stronger and bigger platform. AZB being one of the leading law firms in the market provided me the best platform.”
Prior to setting up his law practice in 2014, he managed the legal and compliance function across the Asia-Pacific Region for Facebook Inc. Later, he merged his practice – Law Offices of Chetan Nagendra – with Themis Associates.
He was previously heading the India Desk at Harney Westwood & Riegels in London, before which he was working with Diageo Plc, India, where he was Regional Counsel for the Middle East and India hubs. In India, he trained with Amarchand Mangaldas and has worked at their Bangalore and Mumbai offices.
Nagendra is qualified to practice in India, New York, England & Wales and the Eastern Caribbean.
