In what seems to be a growing trend, yet another Bangalore-based law firm has been acquired by a bigger firm with intentions of expansion. Seagull Law has merged its practice with full service law firm Hammurabi & Solomon, with effect from October 15.

Bharath, founder of Seagull, is a litigation lawyer with 15 years’ experience, and has been inducted as a Partner in Hammurabi & Solomon’s South India practice. The team that will join H&S will include Bharath and five other lawyers. In a press release, he commented,

“I felt it was the right time to expand and grow to the next level and hence decided to merge my practice with Hammurabi & Solomon. This integration with H&S will definitely give us strength to go further by helping us to better our offering in other practice areas as well as expand our footprints in South of India…”

H&S Managing Partner Manoj Kumar said,

“Bharath’s wide range of experience in handling matters in various courts, tribunals and other fora and will further strengthen our existing real estate and disputes resolution practice in the South.”

The acquisition promises to expand the firm’s presence in the South; it had recently opened an office in Patna, to add to its offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Ranchi.

This is the third such merger this month; earlier, Anandram and Prashanth had merged its litigation practice with Poovayya & Co. Last week, TMT Law Practice had tied up with CorLit Legal to strengthen its presence in South India.
