The Singapore International Arbitration Centre shall be hosting a series of events this month, including conferences in Mumbai and Delhi. In addition to the conferences, SIAC is also hosting the YSIAC Roadshow which includes an Advocacy Workshop in Delhi, and a talk in Mumbai.

1. YSIAC Delhi Advocacy Workshop (4 September 2015 | The Leela Palace)

The YSIAC Delhi Advocacy Workshop is based on an exciting case scenario designed to test your advocacy skills. The case scenario involves a mock dispute over a contract for the charter of a vessel known as The Vikrant for a 12-month period between two parties.

The contract contains a clause providing for all disputes arising out of or in connection therewith to be referred to arbitration in Singapore under the SIAC Rules. The contract further stipulates the appointment of a sole arbitrator and is governed by Singapore law.

The Workshop programme includes a mock cross-examination of witnesses for both claimants and respondents, presided by Mr Gary Born, as well as a panel discussion with all our participants. Delegates will be sent the case scenario in advance of the Workshop.
